Japan-based designer Luka Yasukawa recently designed the Utena Chair - Utena is Japanese for the calyx of a flower. The flexible chair is made of a shell-like structure that adjusts to a person’s body when they sit on it.
The final version of Utena is made of pockets of transparent PVC or synthetic leather, into which are inserted acrylic strips. This means that they can be replaced if they happen to break.
Not only is Yakusawa’s chair a very flexible, easy-to-use seat, it can also be folded up, therefore making it perfect for the nomadic person.
