The design for the Manchester (UK) offices of Nando's, the international restaurant chain, is the result of a collaboration between STAC architecture & I-AM WOW LTD contractors. STAC wanted to create a space that felt open-plan, whilst still providing the cellular office space and privacy that the client had required. The final result is a ‘free-standing’ box in the middle of a visually appealing and open-plan office. The burnt, black box houses front-of-house activities, a one-on-one meeting room and storage for the main office located behind it. The free-standing box provides an element of privacy for the adjacent office, whilst still allowing views into it. Materials used for this space range from reclaimed timber wall panelling, burnt Cedar and woven vinyl flooring, to brass strips and welded sheets of blackened steel. The vibrant and yellow vinyl flooring is the perfect contrast to the earthy décor of this trendy office.
